2019 President

Helen Christians, MOT/L, WCC (Retired) graduated in 1983 from Texas Women’s University with a master’s degree in occupational therapy. She semi-retired in 2016 from Legacy’s Chronic Wound and Outpatient Burn Center where she currently works on-call. Her expertise includes treatment of children and adults with vascular, lymphatic, and burn-related wounds with emphasis on patient and family training to protect newly healed skin and maintain wound closure. Helen volunteers at Oregon Burn Center’s After-care Support Programs for burn and wound survivors and their family members.

How often do you hold the Basic Wound Care Course?

The Basic Wound Care Course (BWCC) is held twice a year.

How are my donations and tuitions used?

100% of funds received are used to facilitate the quarterly meetings and training sessions and to keep tuition prices affordable.  All staff and board of members are volunteers.

Do you have roles for volunteers?

Yes! We are always on the lookout for qualified volunteers to assist with the Basic Wound Care Course break out (demo) sessions. Please reach out to info@columbiawound.org to inquire.
