This Basic Wound Care Course for Health Care Students is designed for students studying to become nurses, doctors, occupational therapists and physical therapists, who desire a comprehensive overview of the major components of wound assessment, wound treatment and medical conditions often associated with wounds. The course includes 4 topic-specific lectures given by local wound care experts and 4 hands-on learning workshops.
3 hours of Lectures include:
- Review of anatomy & Physiology of Wound Healing
- Wound Assessment
- Pressure Injury Prevention & Treatment
- Maintaining Wound Closure
4 hours of Hands-on Learning workshops include:
- Wound Hygiene
- Wound Assessment
- Wound Dressings
- Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT)
